Westlake Golf Club
Westlake is one of Cape Town’s older and more popular golf clubs, having been established in 1932. It has an interesting history and was formed initially by break-aways from the early days of the Clovelly Golf Club. It has a marvellous setting against the slopes of the Silvermine Mountain; part of the Table Mountain National Park. Famous golfers have praised its condition and layout; including Bobby Locke in the 1950s and 60s and Gary Player in the 1980s. Whilst today it is surrounded by upmarket residential developments, many alterations and improvements have taken place over the last twenty years. This easy to walk, 18 hole Par 72 golf course is characterised by panoramic views and towering trees which line many of its fairways. It has a very interesting, yet user-friendly design with quite a few doglegs. Westlake Golf Club welcomes visitors with its special blend of old world charm and modern amenities in an atmosphere of conviviality and camaraderie. Amenities include bar and excellent restaurant, locker rooms, driving range, chipping green; golf carts and Pro shop.

Clovelly Golf Club
Considered one of the finest golf courses in South Africa, Clovelly Country Club is famous for its rolling, computer-irrigated fairways and undulating holes, complementing its rich coastal environment. The championship-quality greens are nestled in the tranquil Silvermine Valley close to Fish Hoek, away from the noise and traffic of the City. The charming and narrow course meanders along a dune lined valley proves challenging, where each hole has a distinctive setting, but offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and False Bay. The Silvermine River, natural sand dunes and trees line the fairways with water features and a wide variety of birdlife such as guinea fowl, pheasant and steppe buzzard. Of moderate length (5 869m – Par 72 men & Par 73 ladies), Clovelly is unique in that it follows neither the links nor the American tradition in its design. It is a tight course by South African standards, and has a fine blend of testing holes, with the river and adjacent ponds adding much to their character. Adjoining the club house with all of the expected facilities is a pro shop, restaurant and driving range.

Steenberg Golf Club
The Steenberg Golf Club is one of Cape Town’s newest golf courses, but rated as one of the top three courses to visit in South Africa. It is an exclusive golf club set in the idyllic surroundings of the Constantia Valley. Steenberg Estate comprises award winning vineyards and cellars, upmarket residential properties adjoining the golf course and a luxury hotel and restaurant. The hotel buildings – including the Manor House, Jonkershuis and Barn – date back to 1682 and have been lovingly restored and decorated with 17th Century antiques, offering a gracious combination of old world charm and modern conveniences.
The par-three, not-so-short 14th hole, features the largest green in Africa at 76 meters in length; indigenous shrubs guard the green and the mound has been shaped to echo the distinctive mountain range behind. The 18 hole course was designed to make full use of natural features and hazards such as the vineyards, pine forest and gentle waterways. Its environmental diversity gives the course its unique character. The Steenberg Golf Club is open to the public, but priority and special green fee rates are given to Hotel guests and members.
Pre-dating the famous Groot Constantia estate as a wine producer, the farm was for decades underutilised until it was finally bought by JOHNNIC PROPERTIES, who completely restored the historic werf area of the farm. The Manor House has been declared a National Monument and operates as the luxury Steenberg hotel. The main gable on the Manor House is the only surviving example of its kind in the Cape Peninsula. JOHNNIC built a new winery and now produces a range of exclusive and award winning quality white and red wines.
Steenberg offers visiting golfers a range of top-class facilities, including Locker Rooms, Pro Shop, The Steenberg Club House and practice range.
